About The Renaissance

A transformative 7-day immersion in the heart of Tuscany, designed for leaders seeking depth, connection, and renewal.

Our Story

The Badia Renaissance was born from a simple observation: the most accomplished people often have the least space for reflection. In a world that celebrates constant motion, we created a sanctuary for stillness.

Founded by Puneet Kalia and Alessandro Esteri, The Renaissance brings together 30 carefully selected individuals each June at a restored 10th-century abbey in the Chianti hills. Here, surrounded by vineyards and centuries of history, guests embark on a journey through Spirit, Art, and Perspective.

Our approach is deliberately singular. Unlike retreats that offer a buffet of options, we believe in the power of a unified experience. Every guest walks the same path, creating a profound sense of shared transformation.

The Founders

Puneet Kalia

Co-Founder & Spiritual Director

With two decades of experience guiding leaders through transformation, Puneet brings a unique blend of Eastern contemplative traditions and Western leadership principles to The Renaissance.

Alessandro Esteri

Co-Founder & Creative Director

A native Florentine and art historian, Alessandro curates the aesthetic journey of each retreat, weaving Renaissance wisdom into contemporary practice through immersive artistic experiences.

The Three Pillars

Spirit

Morning practices, noble silence, and guided inquiry. We create space for the inner work that external success often crowds out.

Art

Hands-on creative immersion, sensory awakening, and the cultivation of the "Renaissance Eye" - seeing beauty in unexpected places.

Perspective

Evening dialogues, long-table conversations, and the exchange of wisdom across disciplines and cultures.

The Venue

Badia De Campalone

Our home for the week is a restored 10th-century Benedictine abbey nestled in the Chianti hills, just outside Florence. The abbey has been thoughtfully preserved while offering modern comforts.

  • Private gardens and meditation spaces
  • Historic wine cellars and tasting rooms
  • Farm-to-table Tuscan cuisine
  • Infinity pool overlooking the vineyards
